Acura has a strong commitment to improving the environment’s health, and it recently announced its first all-electric SUV. The ZDX is scheduled to be released in 2024 and will be available with the Type S variant. The Type S variant is a high-performance version that takes the driver’s experience to the next level. The ZDX debuted during Monterey Car Week as the Precision EV Concept. It shows off the latest Acura design language with a distinctly modern, individualized look.

Acura is using a flexible EV platform that is the product of a co-development project with GM and will use Ultium batteries. By 2026, the ZDX will be updated to use Acura’s own e:Architecture platform. This zero-emission SUV has been designed at the Acura Design Studio. Notably, the original gas-powered ZDX was the first model completely designed at the studio when it first opened.

The introduction of the ZDX to the Acura lineup is a significant step forward for the automaker, which pledged to achieve 100% of all sales in North America to be either fuel cell electric or electric battery models by 2040. The automaker is also committed to its business activities and products to be carbon neutral by 2050. With this in mind, you can expect Acura to release other electrified vehicles in the years ahead.
