The mark of an Acura engine is its ability to produce more power than its specs would suggest possible. The TSX accomplishes this feat with the precise management of its 2.4-liter i-VTEC® in-line 4. The engine's highly intelligent variable valve-timing system expertly balances the competing demands of low-end torque and high-speed horsepower, generating a constant surge throughout the power band. The TSX Sedan is also available with a V-6 for even bigger thrills. Its all-aluminum construction and hollow camshafts keep the engine lighter for a better-handling vehicle.

For those looking to get the most power out of the TSX's high-revving engine, 2.4-liter engine can be mated with a 6-speed manual transmission (Special Edition The close-ratio gearing ensures strong performance in any gear. Shift throws are short and the linkage direct to provide an optimal feel for confident shifting. Available both engines, the Sequential SportShift automatic features a cornering-G shift control that recognizes when you're in a curve and will delay upshifting to avoid having downshift when you hit the accelerator as you exit the curve. The automatic transmission also gives you the option of driving in fully automatic mode or, with race-inspired shifters, a more hands-on approach.
